MALOMVÖLGY FESTIVAL 2026

The concert programme brought together a variety of musical styles. On Thursday, Cafuné and Sárik Péter Trio X Bartók performed, followed on Friday by Edina Szirtes Mókus and Yancha Nagy, and then the duo of Veronika Harcsa and Bálint Gyémánt. On Saturday, Pankastic! and Elsa Valle Bakary took to the stage. From South American guitar music and Bartók arrangements to swing and Afro-Cuban influences, a wide range of styles came together harmoniously over the course of the three-day programme.

The evening concerts were followed by jam sessions, continuing the tradition of playing music together that is part of everyday life at the BJC and a characteristic element of jazz. In the mornings, the festival programme took place at Lovas Kikötő, where the free matinée concerts featured Márton Stummer, the Quiet Chords Duo and Máté Palásti.

This was not the first time Lovas had hosted a festival organised by the BJC: in November 2022, we held a two-day concert series here. This year, the event returned to the Márffy House in an open-air summer format. The organisers’ aim was to create a smaller-scale event where, alongside the concerts, the venue and local hospitality were also an integral part of the programme.

We would like to thank the musicians, the teams of the Márffy House and Lovas Kikötő, everyone involved, and the audience for these three days. After this summer excursion, the concerts continue at the Budapest Jazz Club.
