World-renowned saxophonist Tony Lakatos, based in Frankfurt, has been one of Europe's most acclaimed jazz musicians for decades. Pianist Szakcsi Jr. is among the most versatile voices of Hungarian jazz, combining a deep bebop tradition with a highly personal musical language that carries forward the legacy of his father, Szakcsi Lakatos Béla. The quartet is completed by bassist Lakatos Pecek Krisztián and drummer Balázs Elemér, both internationally recognized artists whose refined chamber music sensibility and exceptional improvisational skills have made them leading figures of the Hungarian jazz scene. The programme brings together the timeless language of jazz tradition and the vitality of a contemporary approach. Rooted in the classic jazz idiom, the performance is shaped by sophisticated musical dialogue, inspired improvisation and the distinctive artistic voice of each musician, honouring the genre's finest traditions while offering a fresh perspective.
