Almaty Youth Jazz Band
One of the world's most adorable jazz bands is coming to Budapest! They are still young musicians and enthusiastic amateurs, yet their remarkable journey has already taken them from Kazakhstan to the legendary stage of New York's Apollo Theater —where icons such as James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald and Jimi Hendrix once performed.
Leading them is 77-year-old Tagir Zaripov, widely regarded as the father of Kazakh jazz. For more than three decades, he has been mentoring new generations of young musicians, taking them on concert tours across Europe and the United States, while inspiring them with his lifelong passion for jazz.
