FIDELIO Jazz Night: Budapest Orchestra Project

Budapest Orchestra Project
24.02.2025. 20:00 (Monday)
Price: 4500 / 3700 HUF (full price / student and pensioner)
(There will be no tables in the concert hall this night. The seats may be occupied upon arrival. We are unable to accept discounted coupons, gift tickets, and music school student IDs granting free entry for this program.)

The Budapest Orchestra Project celebrates the 90th anniversary of two significant figures in big band history. During the evening, the band will guide the audience through the timeline of the legendary Count Basie Orchestra, founded in 1935 (and still in existence today), and will also present a selection of the oeuvre of Canadian composer, arranger and jazz trombonist Rob McConnell, also born in 1935, from his Boss Brass era to Tentet.

Founded in 2021, the Budapest Orchestra Project is Hungary's youngest professional big band. Since its 4-year existence, the band has performed at the country's most prestigious concert venues, collaborating with artists such as Miklós H. Vecsei and Jazzation. Their "Cat Catcher - Live Music Film Screening" project, presented in 2024, and the single made from it were nominated for the Music Hungary and Fonogram awards.
