Debi Botos has been interested in Hungarian gypsy music since childhood. Now 28 years old, the self-taught musician continues to explore and experiment with the sounds of the legendary Django Reinhardt. Touring Toronto, playing festivals and concert halls in the US and Europe, and growing up in the very musical Botos family, she found a sound that is both contemporary and a tribute to the greats. She collaborated with some famous artists of the genre, including Samson Schmitt, Ludovic Beier, Róbert Szakcsi Lakatos, Roby Lakatos, Jenő Lisztes, Stephane Wrembel and Aurore Voilqué. Combining colorful and imaginative sounds from Hungarian gypsy roots to the music of Django Reinhardt, she has written several compositions combining these two styles to create a very enjoyable atmosphere that is electric, traditional, yet modern, which continues to amaze her audiences worldwide.
