Egri János is a double bassist, electric bassist and composer, recipient of the Gold Cross of Merit of the Republic of Hungary and the Szabó Gábor Prize. He is one of the most sought-after figures in the Hungarian jazz scene, known primarily for his modern-mainstream playing, though he has also appeared in numerous crossover, world-music and pop productions.
