Horváth "Tojás" Gábor is a jazz pianist, composer, producer, and a teacher at the Bartók Conservatory. He is one of the prominent figures of the Hungarian jazz scene, founder of the Transform Quintet and a member of Gereben Zita’s band.
The Cheeky is an active chamber choir of the Csíkszereda choir family since 2018. The ensemble, currently consisting of around twenty members, is led by artistic directors Rita Kardos and Anna Zalavári. Their repertoire mainly includes world music songs, and beyond Hungarian folk arrangements, they often enrich their concerts with various other genres they love, such as pop or jazz.
The musicians will arrive on the day of the concert directly from the recording sessions of their upcoming joint album, which will be released in 2026. The audience, however, will have the chance to get a first glimpse of the new songs — live and firsthand!
This exciting project blends the trio’s style with the rich colors of world music, featuring arrangements inspired by Bulgarian, Greek, African, and, of course, Hungarian folk traditions. The program also includes original compositions, performed in collaboration with the Cheeky Choir.
