Junior Prima Award-winning jazz saxophonist Kalman Olah Jr. and his quintet invite the audience to the presentation of his new album, King’s Gambit. The artist showed a great interest in both classical and jazz music early on , and completed his musical studies at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest , where he earned a master’s degree as a jazz saxophone artist and teacher. In recognition of his outstanding achievements, he received the National Higher Education Scholarship from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in 2021 , and was also honored with the Junior Prima Award in 2021 , acknowledging his exceptional talent and dedication.

The program of King’s Gambit is a noteworthy musical material in contemporary Hungarian jazz, featuring Kalman Olah Jr.'s own compositions and unique arrangements. The pieces performed at the concert combine the energetic momentum of modern jazz with a deep, thought-provoking musical perspective laced with classical music elements. This is a
harmonious blend written by the musician specifically for his own formation. The band's goal is to showcase their artistic and composing work in high-prestige venues both at home and abroad , thereby positioning the new generation of Hungarian jazz on the international music scene.

A special highlight of the evening is the guest appearance of the Liszt- and Erkel-Prize- winning jazz pianist, Kalman Oláh, who performs as the band's guest, thereby enhancing the prestige and uniqueness of the album release.
