The performances of “S ï n t h i a,” alias Cintia Horváth, are marked by serene calmness while also radiating a firm strength from the stage.
She earned her jazz vocal degree at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. With her quintet, she received a special award at the Müpa Jazz Showcase, performed at the 606 Club in London, and has sung with artists such as Núria Rial and Bobby McFerrin. In 2021, the Lakatos Ablakos Dezső performance scholarship helped launch her career. Throughout her journey, she has always sought new inspirations and experimented with different styles and genres. For four years, she was the vocalist of the Fonogram Award-winning Balázs Elemér Group, and since 2018, she has been a permanent member of the a cappella ensemble Voice Drops.
Zoltán Rugovics is one of the most prominent pianists in the Hungarian jazz scene. He earned his degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz (Kunstuniversität Graz). He won first prize at both the 8th International University Jazz Festival in Târgu Mureș and the 2016 Žilina International Jazz Contest in Slovakia.
The friendship between the two artists goes back to their “Bartók Conservatory days,” ten years ago. As suggested by the title of their concert, Our Favourite Things, they will present a selection of their most beloved jazz standards and original compositions.
