Nikoletta Szőke, winner of the Montreux Jazz Voice Competition and recipient of the Máté Péter Award, is one of Hungary’s most popular jazz performers. With her Gipsy Queen Live program, she also appeals to fans of lighter genres, while her original songs blend elements of jazz, Latin, gypsy, Spanish, and R’n’B music.

With the establishment of the Szakcsi Jazz Association, contemporaries and friends remember the greatest Hungarian jazz pianist of his time, Béla Szakcsi Lakatos.

The formation originates its music from the Eastern European Jewish traditions. Although Nigun’s music can be best labelled as „Klez-jazz”.

The traditional sound is fused with timbres commonly used in modern music today, while the free improvisational sections characteristic of jazz dominate the concerts just as much as the precisely composed and orchestrated themes.
