The Elemer Balázs Group, one of Hungary’s most popular jazz band was founded in 2000 by Elemér Balázs, the internationally widely recognized and popular jazz drummer.

The brilliant young Hungarian tenorman produces a beautiful, muscular, dark tone on his horn, plays jazz that sounds like jazz, he is a soulful hard bop player, so true lovers of the genre will absolutely love him.

The Hungarian Jazz Association is supporting Hungarian musicians with a 4-part lecture series, as part of which participants can gain up-to-date knowledge. The lectures are aimed at musicians, as well as all music industry players and music lovers who would like to broaden their perspective and enrich their knowledge with an informal, interactive series, regardless of age or musical style.

After the successful weekend jam sessions, Budapest Jazz Club now welcomes everyone to the new Thursday jams!

Each Wednesday, a different trio of talented young musicians is in charge of good vibes, and they welcome the audience to take part in their game.

Since 2024, the singer Emese Kindrusz, who feels at home in the world of Latin music, from Nyíregyháza, has joined the band. As a result, alongside the instrumental direction, vocal jazz also takes center stage.

The duo of Myrtill Micheller and Tibor Pintér, successful for over ten years, performs monthly at the BJC. Their repertoire primarily consists of jazz standards, evergreens, and jazzy adaptations of pop songs.

Their repertoire is characterized by Django Reinhardt’s musical legacy, enriched with the salon music of Budapest from the last century, a touch of Paris, and the freedom of jazz.
