Budateher Jazz Night

The Red Stones was founded in 2018 by pianist and composer Vörös László. 

Authentic bossa nova vibes from Brasil, intimate, light tunes with traditional bossa rhythm.

On their latest album, the bandleader’s compositions are enriched by distinctive melodic contours, sensitive harmonies and personal interpretation, as well as the trio’s high-level musicianship — yet perhaps their greatest strength is the accessibility they maintain despite all the sophistication.

The drummer-composer Balázs Bágyi is one of the prominent figures in the Hungarian jazz scene, regularly performing abroad as well. He has been leading his own bands since his twenties.

The true sensation of the night — and arguably the guarantee of the concert’s high artistic level — is their guest, one of Hungary’s finest pianists, Krisztián Oláh. There is no doubt: for jazz connoisseurs, the BJC is the place to be tonight!

This dream-team unites members of three distinguished Hungarian Gypsy musical dynasties.

The Elemer Balázs Group, one of Hungary’s most popular jazz band was founded in 2000 by Elemér Balázs, the internationally widely recognized and popular jazz drummer.

Gereben Zita’s velvety voice and personal onstage presence ensure an unforgettable evening. 

In previous years, Árpád Tzumo performed with such great American stars as Wayne Shorter, Terence Blanchard or Kenny Garrett. The artist, who is also successful abroad, could learn the tricks of jazz piano playing from a keyboard player of no lesser stature than Herbie Hancock.

The band will perform compositions by Dely Robi. These pieces feature a lot of improvisation and diverse use of instruments.

The band has been founded by four siblings, who all play wind instruments. Their music evokes the progressive style of the ’ 60s and ’ 70s.
