World Stars at Budapest Jazz Club: VLADIMIR KOSTADINOVIC W/ JOE LOCKE & TONY LAKATOS, ALEX SIPIAGIN and JOSHUA GINSBURG
Vladimir Kostadinović is one of the most remarkable drummers and composers on the contemporary European jazz scene, whose career has gained significant international momentum in recent years. His New York-recorded album IRIS features some of the genre's most influential musicians – Chris Potter, Ben Wendel, Geoffrey Keezer, Matt Brewer, Joe Locke and Alex Sipiagin – and received widespread critical acclaim for its virtuosity, emotional depth and compelling musical vision.
The Budapest concert promises to be a truly special occasion, as several world-class artists join Kostadinović's ensemble. Joe Locke is widely regarded as one of the most influential vibraphonists in modern jazz, celebrated for his exceptional melodic imagination, stylistic versatility and boundless improvisational freedom. Trumpeter Alex Sipiagin, a leading figure of the New York jazz scene, has long been recognized for his breathtaking technique, rich tone and sophisticated compositional voice.
The lineup is further strengthened by Tony Lakatos, who spent many years as a featured soloist with the Frankfurt HR Big Band and has collaborated with many of the world's greatest jazz musicians. Lakatos and Sipiagin share a musical partnership spanning several decades, and their joint projects represent the very highest level of contemporary mainstream jazz. Completing the quintet is Joshua Ginsburg, one of New York's most sought-after double bassists, admired for his deep groove, refined accompaniment and lyrical improvisational style. His versatile musicianship has made him a valued collaborator of numerous leading American and international jazz artists.
