FIDELIO Jazz Night

The Elemer Balázs Group, one of Hungary’s most popular jazz band was founded in 2000 by Elemér Balázs, the internationally widely recognized and popular jazz drummer.

This band is a new experiment, based on jazz traditions, but playing with pop and classical elements.

The music of this trio respecting the mainstream roots of jazz. To make their performance even deeper, a well-known Hungarian songstress will accompany them this evening.

Hajdu Klára is quite well-known in Hungary, since she was the vocalist of the popular band, Balázs Elemér Group. 

Pol Omedes is one of the most promising Spanish trumpet talents. He has already played on stage with big names, such as Lee Konitz.

The repertoire  of  the  Duo  consists  of  French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian masterpieces, own compositions, elegant jazz evergreens as well as fiery Latin tunes.

The band aims to preserve the traditions of the quintet formation, one of the most original and sonically rich configurations in jazz music.

Szűcs Gabi and her band are the perfect representatives of traditional swing music and the vibes of the '30s and '40s. Besides standards, they perform modern covers.

Leonard Bernstein was one of the most significant composers of the 20th century.

This dream-team unites members of three distinguished Hungarian Gypsy musical dynasties.

Founded  by  Gábor  Kollmann,  Jazzmania  Big Band is based on the music of the ‘30s and ‘40s, spiced with jazzrock and funky elements.

On this evening, the Studo11 Ensemble’s guest will be vocalist Orsolya Perczel-Kováts, whose career includes not only her work as a vocal teacher but also numerous theater roles, concerts, and stage performances in a wide variety of genres, both in Hungary and abroad.

The band, led by trumpet player Koós-Hutás Áron, is unique because of it’s electric, cosmic sounding.

Gábor Szalay is the outstanding Hungarian exponent of bebop guitar with his highly harmonic and incredibly swinging approach.

Kovács Linda graduated at Franz Liszt Academy of Music in 2007, and she has been performing with the greatest Hungarian jazz musicians ever since.
