The Szabó Dániel Quintet is a true „middle generation” supergroup, its members are musicians who are renowned both in Hungary and abroad.

The group started working professionally in 1990, and  has  been  recognised  from  the  beginning by audience and critics alike as one of the best young European mainstream jazz trio.

The drummer-composer Balázs Bágyi is one of the prominent figures in the Hungarian jazz scene, regularly performing abroad as well. He has been leading his own bands since his twenties.

Krisztián Oláh divided the pieces into four concerts based on their sources of inspiration in the “4x4 Sessions” series. In the “5x5” series, marking the fifth anniversary of the band, five more abstract but highly relevant musical ideas and concepts form the theme of the concerts.

They are two friends who have played together in many bands, and decided to start their own project playing mainstream pop, jazz standards and their own songs.

Award-winning pianist Balázs Tamás is an active member of the Hungarian jazz scene, and his trio plays mostly his own compositions. 

The band always creates something new that is exciting for jazz-lovers and those who are getting to know the genre.

Fusion Circus is a formation playing compositions by bandleader László Attila, whose newest works are dedicated especially to wind instruments.

The Elemer Balázs Group, one of Hungary’s most popular jazz band was founded in 2000 by Elemér Balázs, the internationally widely recognized and popular jazz drummer.

These Wednesdays are random because the leader of the project, Barabás Lőrinc invites well-known characters of the contemporary Hungarian jazz scene to create something amazing in the form of a jam session.

The young, award winning (Artisjus-, Junior Prima-, and two-times-Orszáczky award winner) pianist and composer not only writes his music for his Quartet but these four musicians also create a very unique atmosphere together that comes from their strong musical and personal bound.

Their music spans a wide range of time and moods, from Latin music to fusion jazz and modern swing compositions.

Authentic bossa nova vibes from Brasil, intimate, light tunes with traditional bossa rhythm.

One of the most successful Hungarian formations on an international level, the Bágyi Balázs New Quartet, is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary with this concert.
