Kőszegi Imre, holder of the Liszt-Prize one of the most prominent drummers in Hungary is leading this unusual line-up.

Balázs József is the leader and arranger of the East Gipsy Band which was immensely successful both at New York’s famous Blue Note and at the Detroit Jazz Festival, and he also happens to be one of the best jazz pianists in Hungary. Heidi Vogel, a singer from London, initially started making her professional debut touring with Cirque du Soleil.

J.J. Johnson, one of the most influential trombone players in jazz history teamed up with another trombone legend, Kai Winding in the 1950s to form an immensely successful quintet unusually fronted by two trombones. This gave the inspiration to this brilliant crew.

The incredibly passionate English pianist, composer, and teacher, Tim Lapthorn, leads one of the most popular piano trios in the UK.

Instead of competing, these brilliant musicians complement each other by producing a fresh and unique sound that transcends down all the artificial dividing lines created by rigid definitions of genre.

Singer Alma Bencze gifted with a beautiful voice and great feeling who was invited to the legendary 606 Club in London is now presenting her favorite jazz standards to the audience of the Budapest Jazz Club and the Harmony Jazz Workshop. 

Both musicians were double “medallists” of the 2022 readers’ poll held by Hungary’s biggest online jazz journal, Jazz.hu. 

 The trio won the first prize awarded by an international jury at the Palace of Arts Jazz Showcase in 2022. 

Starting from the traditional big band genre, the Budapest Jazz Orchestra accompanied the development of jazz from the 1920s to contemporary jazz in its productions. 

Singer Gina Kanizsa, gifted with a beautiful voice has never been averse to but has always been successful with risky undertakings.

Urbán Orsi is one of the outstanding jazz singers in Hungary. With her natural radiance and immediately identifiable, deep, powerful voice she creates a fantastic atmosphere.
